Iris/Tooth Box: 199? - Gilman School
This was an assignment for shop class: Design and build a coin dish which incorporated a focal point. It was against the rules for it to be round or square, but when it's opened it is star shaped. Another restraint was in height, something arbitrary like 3 inches due to the display case. This is my first turned piece, and it flew off the machine a couple of times while I was working on it, but it came out OK in the end. I had the design for the lid nearly finished for a while, and only had to refine it for this project. It works by turning the outer circle, which pushes pins in the teeth around and out.
