Wasp Box: 1997 - Gilman School
This is a really complicated and detailed intricate sequel to the beetle box. It's inlaid ebony and osage orange, and the wings are super-glued wire. It's so fragile I hardly ever open it, and it's home is leaning in the corner of my bookshelf. The base is the actual plug I cut it out of with a coat hanger wire stuck in it. I want to make cast brass legs, but I don't have the knowledge or the resources. It would be far more stable closer to the ground although the feeling of flight would be lost.
