Flycycle: 2003 - SolidWorks
This is a concept I developed after seeing some illustrations for a personal VSTOL backpack in Popular Mechanics, but I would rather have it something rideable, like a sport-bike motorcycle. The front 2 nacelles are basically stationary, with some limited thrust vectoring inside, while the rear pod can move in 2 degrees of freedom, to provide lift, braking, and turning. This model takes those motions into account and also has space for drive-shafts coming from a central motor or jet engine.
